Website redesign for Paint My Photos

I got a website redesign job from Matt Chen, who is the founder of Paint My Photo, an art gallery doing custom paintings, portraits, picture-to-art etc. It is a Zen Cart-based website, and Matt wished we could add a feature where customers can choose the artists they like to place their custom orders instead of just clicking the buy now button. So after two days of hard work, we successfully met his requirements and replaced the button with ‘I want this artist to paint my photo’ and also added a social share button, which is pretty cool. The original shopping cart system is not perfect for an art gallery taking custom orders as there are lots of custom requirements, for example, background colors, mediums, framing, figures of people, etc., which require more customer-friendly features. I suggested Matt improve the cart system in order to make it easier for customers to use and order. What i did was create an order now page where customers can upload their photos from their computers or choose to email their photos, select the numbers of people, select the background, select the mediums, select the frames, etc.

Secondly, I created a page with a portrait price list where customers can get a basic idea of the cost.

Thirdly, I adjusted the displaying images of each row to 2 images instead of 3 images. For example, on take pet portrait page, the pet oil paintings look much more beautiful than before.

After making the above improvements, Matt said his conversion rate is becoming higher.
